For all you "newbies" to couponing out there - here's how to make the most out of the coupons in the Sunday paper this week at Walgreens.
As many of you may have heard, Walgreen's is getting rid of their EasySaver program (this is the program where couponers could pick up a booklet at the store and use Walgreen's speciality coupons within the store). However, there has been talk of Walgreen's offering more Register Rewards deals. Here's how you can get the most for your money at Walgreen's.
1. Use multiple coupons. On most Walgreen's ads in the Sunday paper - there will be coupons that are especially made for Walgreen's. If you have coupons for those products, you can use 2 coupons for 1 product!
2. Register Rewards - very similar to CVS's extra care rewards program. When you purchase these products, coupons will print out at the register that you can use for cash the next time you are there (unlike CVS, you do not need a specialty card for these rewards). Sometimes the items offered in their flyer are free after register rewards. Once you pair other coupons with these items, it is possible to actually make money on your purchases.
If this is your first time using coupons at Walgreens (from this Sunday paper), here are the deals you can get:
SALE: Air Wick Sented Oil Kit with Motion Sensor - $4.99
Use the coupon inside the paper for $4 off
Final price: $.99
Shick Razor for Women - $8.99
Register Rewards - $3
Which means that it would be like paying $5.99
Use the coupon inside the paper for $4 off
Final Price: $1.99
For those who have been couponing for a while......
Rimmel Makeup - Buy one get one free
Use the Free Mascara coupon from the April All-You
Get 2 for FREE!
Buy 1 Nivea Body Wash get it FREE after Register Rewards
Use $1 off 1 from last week's Sunday paper
FREE plus $1 moneymaker!
Buy 1 Rembrandt Toothpaste or Mouthwash, get it FREE after Register Rewards
Buy 1 Bayer Quick Release Crystals, get it FREE after Register Rewards
Buy 3 Suave Hair Care Products for $5, get $2 in Register Rewards
Use $1.75 off 3 in 3/1 paper
$.42 each after Register Rewards
If you were to buy each of the above products - price before coupons: $38.94
Your cost with coupons before Register Rewards would be: $22.70 (Coupon Savings of $16.24)
Register Rewards:$18.47
Total price (with coupons and register rewards): $4.23!!! A savings of almost 90%!

Heather - I love that you're giving the newbies deals they can do with only today's paper. Smart!
I hit up Walgreens today and paid:
$17.07 - $3MQ - 9RR(from previous trans) = 5.07 (w/ $15.50 RR back),
so a "profit" of $1.43! Love these deals!
Yes - I love these deals too. I just posted my finds at Walgreen's. Check it out.
The Walgreen's in my area will only allow you to use 1 Register Reward per transaction. The manager said that using more than one at a time is against their policy.
According to the fine print, "Coupon Value cannot exceed purchase amount. Total number of Manufacturer coupons/Register Rewards cannot exceed the number of items in the transaction." Walgreen's should allow you to use multiple register rewards as long as the number does not exceed the number of items in your transaction and the value of your rewards isn't higher than the value of your transaction.
I have had this happen to me before too. Sometimes the cashier will ring through all of my RR and sometimes they refuse to use more than one. Usually, I will ask them to "just try it" and of course it goes through. Walgreens cashiers often are not trained very well at all!
I found a $25 gc coupon in our paper last week, it was good at our new Walgreens only. I filled a prscription, $6.95 got my $25 gc and went shopping. I spent about $13 after coupons on that gc. When I got home my Walgreens rebate card was in the mailbox $8.50! I think I'm liking Walgreens.
